Group Support Therapy: Finding Strength in Community
Group therapy is a powerful form of psychotherapy that brings together individuals facing similar challenges. One or more coaches or therapists work simultaneously with several people in these sessions. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or other mental health concerns, group support therapy offers a unique and supportive environment.
6 Reasons For Joining Support Groups
-
Shared Experiences. Participants quickly realize they are not alone. Seeing others navigate similar struggles provides comfort and validation.
-
Safety and Security. Within the group, individuals can practice new behaviours and coping strategies. The supportive, private and confidential setting encourages growth.
-
Community. Group members become a community, offering encouragement, empathy, and understanding.
-
Support network and a sounding board. Groups can act as a support network and a sounding board. Other group members often help you come up with specific ideas for improving a difficult situation or life challenge and hold you accountable along the way.
-
Reduces isolation and alienation. Group therapy reduces isolation and alienation. It increases the sense that “we're all in this together,” and normalizes suffering. It increases the feeling that “we're all in this together,” and normalizes suffering.
-
Accelerate recovery. Research suggests that group therapy can help with co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorder, too.
Can I join at any time?
Yes. 360 support groups follow an open group format. Members are welcome to join at any time. Open-format support groups are often livelier and more dynamic than closed groups.
Do I need to have a problem to join the group?
No. Support groups allow participants to share concerns, show vulnerability, hear different viewpoints, clarify priorities, and make decisions with greater confidence. Members also build camaraderie and form connections that help them feel safe, grounded, and capable in a volatile and uncertain world. The support they receive in the group sustains them through their toughest professional (and personal) challenges and fosters their long-term success.
How are 360's support groups different from others?
-
Professional, experienced and dedicated leaders. 360 Wellness Hub selects our group leaders based on their qualifications, life experiences, empathy towards others, and authenticity.
-
Outcome and results-driven. 360 group therapy is more than just a psychosocial or psychoeducational event; the sessions are results and outcome-oriented.
-
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). SFBT is a brief, cost-effective therapy focusing on an individual's strengths and resources.
-
Cost-Effective. 360 Wellness Hub's group leaders are giving away thousands of ringgit worth of therapy and coaching for a fraction of the cost as part of their giveback to the community.
-
No soliciting for business. Groups are strictly for therapy. Members are not allowed to promote or solicit business from their peers. We can refer you to business networking groups for that purpose.
-
Finding strength in community. Supporting others makes us feel better about ourselves and improves our mental and physical well-being. Also, being a part of a community group brings empowerment. Empowerment gives people a sense of control, enabling them to influence others positively.
-
Small groups. The maximum number of paxs per session is 12. So that everyone benefit from every session.
